AYURVED APPROACH

In Ayurved it can be correlated with Ardhavabhedak. Ardha mean half side of head and Avabhedaka means splitting, bursting, penetration pain. Exposure to etiological factors like excessive intake of dry food, exposure to breeze and mist, suppressing the natural urges, excessive indulgence in physical activities etc leads to the vitiation of Vata dosha. The Aggravated vata dosha either individually or along with vitiated kapha gets lodged into half portion of head. The lodged doshas causes severe and intolerable pain which leads to development of the condition.
